1. Introduction

SyncUp AI Private Limited ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal data. By using our platform, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. We collect personal information including your name, email address, phone number, resume, work experience, education details, and other information you provide while creating your profile. We may also collect account-related data such as login credentials, preferences, and activity on the platform, as well as technical data including IP address, browser type, and device information.

2. Information We Collect

Your data is used to create and manage your profile, enable job matching, facilitate job applications, and share your profile with recruiters and hiring companies. We may also use your data to improve our platform, operate our AI-powered features, and communicate with you regarding job opportunities, updates, or important notifications. By using our platform, you consent to your information being shared with recruiters when you apply for jobs or make your profile visible. Once your data is shared with third parties for those purposes, we do not control how they use it, although we take reasonable steps to work with trusted partners.

3. How We Use Your Information

We may also share your data with third-party service providers such as cloud storage providers, AI processors, messaging providers, analytics and error-monitoring services, and other operational partners, as well as with legal authorities when required by law. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data; however, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. DigiLocker / Aadhaar Verification

If you choose to verify your identity, we connect to DigiLocker (a Government of India service, via meon.co.in) to retrieve your Aadhaar-linked details (name, date of birth, gender) and any degree certificates you consent to share. We store only a hashed fingerprint of your identity, not your Aadhaar number. This process is entirely optional and initiated only by you.

5. Resume Data Processing & AI Providers

We use third-party AI providers to power features such as resume parsing, job matching, interview screening, and application scoring. These providers include Google Cloud (Vertex AI / Gemini) and Amazon Web Services (Bedrock). Each provider is bound by enterprise data-processing agreements. Under those arrangements, customer content submitted for these features is processed to generate the requested output and is not sold by SyncUp. We configure our use of these providers so that your content is not used to train their general-purpose models, subject to each provider's then-current enterprise terms and product documentation.

We use relevant content such as your resume text, which is sent to our third-party AI providers (including Google Cloud and AWS) solely to generate the requested output. This data is not sold by SyncUp and, under our enterprise arrangements, is not used to train general-purpose AI models.

6. AI Data Retention

Data sent to AI providers for processing (such as resume content and interview responses) is not stored by those providers beyond the duration needed to generate a response, in accordance with our enterprise agreements. AI-generated outputs (such as parsed resume data and screening scores) are stored on SyncUp's servers and are deleted when you delete your account, subject to any retention required by law or for legitimate platform operations (for example fraud prevention or dispute resolution).

7. Degree & Marksheet Verification

If you choose to verify your academic credentials, you may upload your degree certificate and marksheet. These documents are stored securely on AWS S3 and reviewed by SyncUp's verification team solely to confirm authenticity. Uploaded documents are not shared with recruiters or third parties. You may contact info@syncup.in to request deletion of uploaded documents at any time.

8. GitHub Account Linking

You may optionally connect your GitHub account to your SyncUp profile. When you do, we receive basic GitHub profile information (username, public profile details) as permitted by GitHub's OAuth flow. You can disconnect your GitHub account at any time from Settings.

9. MSG91 (WhatsApp OTP)

Where you provide a phone number, we may deliver one-time passcodes by SMS or WhatsApp. WhatsApp OTPs are delivered via MSG91, which receives your phone number solely for message delivery.

10. Sentry (Error Monitoring & Session Replay)

We use Sentry for application monitoring and error diagnosis. On our web application, Sentry may record anonymised session interactions. all text is masked and no media is captured to help us identify and fix technical issues. This data is sent to Sentry's servers and is governed by Sentry's privacy policy. We may also use Sentry for server-side error monitoring across our backend services. Session Replay as described above applies to our web product; native mobile apps may use Sentry for crash and error reporting without the same session-replay capture, depending on how those apps are configured.

11. Profile Visibility & Information Sharing

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as required by applicable laws. You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information at any time by accessing your account or contacting us. Our platform may use cookies and similar technologies to enhance user experience and analyze usage patterns. You may control cookie settings through your browser.

12. Third-Party Services & Legal Disclosure

Our platform may contain links to third-party websites, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Third-party processors named in this Privacy Policy (including DigiLocker / meon.co.in, Google Cloud, AWS, MSG91, GitHub, and Sentry) process data under their own terms and privacy policies in addition to our arrangements with them. Our services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, and continued use of the platform signifies your acceptance of any updates.
